WHAT IS AYURVEDA?
"AYUR" MEANS LIFE AND "VEDA" MEANS SCIENCE.
Ayurveda is an ancient system of natural healing that originated in India around 5,000 years ago. It emphasizes balance among the three energies, or doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—which govern our physical and mental processes. Health is achieved by maintaining harmony between these doshas through mindful living, diet, herbs, seasonal routines, and self-awareness. Ayurveda treats the root cause of imbalance rather than just symptoms, helping individuals align with their unique constitution and nature's rhythms.

WHAT ARE THE DOSHAS?
In Ayurveda, the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—are vital energies made up of the five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth. Each person is born with a unique balance of these doshas, known as their prakriti, which shapes their body, mind, and tendencies. However, the doshas are also present in nature and shift with time, weather, and lifestyle. Each season carries qualities that amplify the dosha with similar elements—for example, fall is dry and airy like Vata, while summer is hot and humid like Pitta. When these environmental qualities overpower our natural balance, imbalances arise. Ayurveda teaches us to live in harmony with these rhythms by adjusting diet, routine, and lifestyle to keep the doshas in balance throughout the year.
